Pattaya’s Extraordinary Nightlife
Pattaya, two hours southeast of Bangkok, is fast becoming Thailand’s nightlife hub.
Highlights include the many spots along Walking Street, the terrific Stage Show at Angelwitch, and two of the best ladyboy shows in Thailand, at Alcazar and Tiffany.
Walking Street is the closed-to-traffic portion of Beach Road, running south of Soi 14 at GPS Coordinates: N12° 55.649’, E100° 52.481’ Here you’ll find loads of beer bars and music clubs, and couples are always welcome.
Angelwitch Pattaya has probably the best stage show of any bar in Thailand.
Co-owner Matt Langer has designed an extraordinary Constructivist stage setting, a two story affair in which performers glide up and down silver poles, doing twenty-four different shows each night, beginning at 10 pm.
Artistic Director Khun Pim stars in several of them, and wonderful costumes and great dancing are resplendent in almost every show.
Crowd favorites are the Harem and Isaan shows, and sightlines are spectacular on both floor and mezzanine levels.

Coyotee’s A-Go-Go has a reputation for having some of the most beautiful stage dancers in Pattaya, but get there early for a good seat stage-side, as less-preferred seats tend to put you in the way of foot traffic.
It’s just off Walking Street, but not quite easy to find.
To get to Cyotee’s, turn east off Walking Street at Soi Lucky Star at GPS Coordinates: N12 ° 55.554’, E100 ° 52.334’.
Coyotee’s is 1.5 blocks up the soi at GPS Coordinates: N12° 55.506’, E100° 52.362’
In our opinion, a trip to Pattaya without seeing a ladyboy show would be a mistake, as shows at Alcazar and Tiffany are among the best in Thailand. Both venues offer shows in elaborate theatres with over 1,000 seats, a state of the art sound and lighting system, and great sight lines. Alcazar and Tiffany each feature dozens of performers, and several separate acts are in each program.
