Books, books, everywhere! The best used bookstores are found just east of the moat near Tha Phae Road. Near them is Book Zone, which sells new books and magazines. Other stores selling new books can be found further south along the eastern bank of the eastern moat, and in the southeast corner of the city.

Suriwong Book Center, 54/1-5 Sridonchai Road, Chiang Mai 50100, tel: (053) 281-052. Local expats rate this bookstore highly, for the breadth of its arts and crafts books inventory. Suriwong also publishes books. Suriwong is located 500 meters east of the southeastern corner of the moat.
